Hi,Duelsy wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 5:27 pmPerfect, thank you, I had a feeling that was the case. Will get some ordered. My friend is fitting them for me to help keep cost down. Take it there's nothing else special required? Found a decent thread on here showing images of a change.matthew.lewis2 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 3:02 pm4 pads per caliper for the front, 2pads per caliper at the rear.
Just popped the discs out of the box to have a quick check of them. Looks a good product to me and they have exactly the same minimum thickness stamping on the outer edge. There's even a little leaflet int he box confirming they are a replacement for the Audi wavys haha.

Where did you order them from?
My rear discs are coming up to a change and can't seem to find anywhere that would do the non wavy style discs.
I've heard of Zimmermann before but never had an encounter with them, any good?
Cheers

Fitted them this weekend and so far very impressed. Great build quality as I'd expect and they provide a very nice feel
I ordered from AutoDoc from the sheet in the first post, took about a week and a half to arrive.
Re: B8 RS4 - Brake disc, pads and hoses - Available parts listed in this thread
Hey guys, I am new to the forum here. I own a RS4 B8 for about 4 weeks right now and it just had major maintenance. Next thing is some new Michelins and after that I would like to install some fresh front discs and pads.
I would like to leave the car original and so I would like to have a set of original and new wave discs and brake pads installed on my car. My Audi specialist tells me that this will cost about 2380 pounds (converted from Euros to Pounds).
Now I see a set of original and new discs on Ebay Germany:
https://www.ebay.de/itm/383965179666?_t ... 978da8%100% 26pid%3D%3% 26pid%3% 26% 26pid% 26mehot 3Dnone%%% 26sd 3D184711285053 26itm%%% 3D383965179666 26pmt% 3D0% 26noa% 3D1% 26pg% 3D2380057 & _trksid = p2380057.c100970.m5481 & _trkparms = pageci% 3A513a2864-ae98-11eb-8341-daffdc81ef68 7Cparentrq%%% 3A42ecb0931790a69f892cc06affeb77b6 7Ciid% 3A1
And in the UK:
https://www.pwmotorsport.com/pr,127,gen ... -b8-42-v8- 2013-.html
Can you tell me where I can order the original corresponding brake pads ? I've seen these come by for around 400 pounds ...
How is it possible that the Audi specialist charges £ 2380 for this?
What would it cost approximately to have the set put on the car by a brake specialist, how many hours of work does it take?

Re: B8 RS4 - Brake disc, pads and hoses - Available parts listed in this thread
Not sure where they got the cost of £2380 from, Audi quoted me £1275 to replace front discs and pads.
Re: B8 RS4 - Brake disc, pads and hoses - Available parts listed in this thread
Just a question to bring up an old thread as well.
Going from the standard brake disc size (365) I believe to a bigger 380 set up. Is there anything else needed for the upgrade or do the discs just fit straight on?

The dust shields at the front might need removing/modification/changing to the dust shields used in the ceramic braked option (I may be wrong there and it might be due to me stretching to 385mm discs).
The callipers will also need spacers.

Brilliant thank you.
The spacers you mentioned, are you referring to normal wheel spacers or a specific type of spacer for the brake callipers? If you could show an image so I’m clear.
Sorry 1 week anniversary for my rs4 b8 so apologies for the noob questions

The supplier of the upgraded brake kit should also be supplying spacers so that the caliper is moved an equal distance away, otherwise when the new larger disk is fitted the caliper will be too far away from the holes it needs to be bolted into.
I have the Reyland kit and they are a superb supplier.

Had some Zimmerman discs and pads fitted by my local garage after 30k miles on the originals. Cost £1100 (Autodoc) + £500 labour = £1,600, compared to £2,500 supply and fit at the Audi dealer.
So far they seem very good.

Just done mine all round with reyland 380mmkit at the front and rear direct swap all floating with oe pads, what an amazing difference, way better than the stock setup on the b8

I'm about to buy an RS4 B8. It has a brake judder problem.
So looking at the cost of replacing discs and pads.
The stock OEM brake discs are easy to find.
However the stock brakepads I can't seem to find in the EU. Only in the UK and they are expensive..
I do find Brembo 'premium' pads at an interesting price. 11,5€ for a set / 46€ per wheel.
Are these any good?

That's, as you say Phillippe, interesting.
I'm afraid I can't offer any advice about how good they might be, but Brembo have been around a while and aren't exactly new to the game.
Let us know what you decide on and how you get on. Personally I'd be interested as I've just started to feel a slight brake judder, - the car goes in for an MOT next week and I'll be asking them to take a look at the problem. It wouldn't be quite the same taking the car to a garage and coming away at least a grand lighter...

Re: B8 RS4 - Brake disc, pads and hoses - Available parts listed in this thread
Job done.
OE front discs and pads, supplied and fitted for just under £2k incl VAT. The labour charge was minimal thanks to my excellent local indy and the parts were delivered next day.
Interestingly, he said his experience with Brembo, Zimmerman etc wasn't good, with too many returns and he'd always recc the OE. I'd have gone with OE anyway tbh, just to keep the car original, and I have to assume that those Audi engineers don't have a huge R&D budget for nothing, but definitely understand it's a case of 'each to his own'.
I'm going to be stopping everywhere now, just to get my money's worth.

Afternoon all
Having read through these posts about discs/pads etc it sounds like a personnal prefernce to all. My front discs aren't the wavy ones, think Zimmerman but cant be sure. Question is, is there a massive difference between the two brands? Also with the Reyland discs, how do they fit with the dust sheilds on?
But, have also read in this thread that the front caliper has 4 pads per caliper?!! Is this correct? Only checked mine the other week as put a ceramic coating on wheels, 2 pads per caliper!! Which is correct?
Many thanks
