Until licence losing speeds I would say yes defiantly
Using launch control I would say it would leave the Rs easily!
Unlike the Rs the a45's make over the stated BHP figures by around 20bhp
Commonly seen on dyno testing, however I would always jump in my car over the 45 out of choice

Probably a surprise to many, but sitting next to my RS4 are two cars - a 1973 Triumph 2.5PI (owned for 24 years), and a 2001 Vauxhall Omega 3.2 V6 Elite (owned for 11 years).
The Triumph 2.5 PI was the first mass produced fuel injected car, and in its day was a flying machine, and now is used purely for classic car events and shows...

My dad always used to buy Triumphs when I was a kid. The 2500PI was a great car for its time, as was the little Vitesse.

I still really enjoy driving the PI and the Omega, but one plus is that when I get back in the RS4, the enjoyment is immense! However, you have to appreciate the other cars for what they represent, especially when the Omega has a price ticket of now only £1500 from £32,000 new, but the Triumph has increased to approx. £5000 from around £2000 new in 1973 but with 'free' road tax and fully comp insurance at only £75 with agreed value. Helps to reduce the pain of £490 tax for the RS4 and the hefty fuel bill, although I guess no one buys an RS4 for economical motoring .......
But the Triumph and the Omega's suspension doesn't knock over bumps in the road surface!!....maybe the DRC was probably better built back then in 1973.....!?!

Back in '06 I had a Turbo (Tubby) which I ran as a weekend car for a year. Great fun for the money, especially out on the track at Bedford...

If you consider one then it's a tale of two cities... If you want outright pace the 2.0 Tubby (or even better the VXR220) is the way to go, but if you crave handling and balance over power then the 2.2 N/A is the one to get.

I wouldn't hesitate getting another, but with prices for the Elise now on a par with the VX it would have to be a VXR that would make me hand over my cash.
