Great choice 535d.

Hope my RS 5 is as good!
Me too but have noticed fuel consumption much better in D though.

Be interesting to see how it compares to RS5 given the updates with the FL

Yes this is true and nor will it change down unless it absolutely has too which I like. This is the worst aspect of the Mrs' porker because it will still kick down and change up
Good to hear, this is how manual mode should be! I personally love to loaf around town in top, it would do my head in if the car kept changing down if I slowed from say 40 to 25. I gather the S4 is annoying in its programming, DK you said you had one that wouldn't redline no matter what you did?!

That's <beep>!! I don't think I could go for a DSG S4, it would be quicker 0-60 but the novelty would soon wear off

My S4 will redline in manual, in fact I've had the limiter cut in a couple of times when I forgot that I was in manual mode!

Cool, at least that's the right way round, at least the facelifts (all auto of course) will redline, if I was going for a prefacelift it would be a manual

I agree with you there, I wanted a manual but unfortunately, as we all know, someone in Audi has decided that the auto is the way to go. While I love the s-tronic I would still have liked to have a choice and I'm sure Audi would have sold quite a few manual S and RS cars if they made them available - as long as they sort the offset peddles out!
