Interesting that Scorpion have had an exhaust available for a year and no one mentions it.....

So by the looks if it it's about time we gave you guys a response.

As has already been mentioned in this thread, we've only just got the system right, so apologies for the delay, we know it's been a while but it's one of the things we are always up against. Milltek, Capristo, Remus, Akropovic and the like all have the budget to buy a car, strip it, a team of people to design it, in house people to make carbon bits, they can basically get an exhaust system turned around in a few weeks simply because they have this kind of workforce. We just don't, we have to borrow a car as and when we can, build a system, try it (that's the key, other people run it on a dyno in house, we can't), make changes, try it again and so on.

Ross has been very helpful with the project, we've probably made 6 or 7 exhaust systems in total, trying to get it to have more noise, less drone, basically be what it needs to be, without his help, we wouldn't even have had an opportunity to do anything.

We have been let down on the carbon trims, we have another composites company looking into it to, we are expecting an answer on it very soon.

We understand your frustrations, believe me when I say it's frustrating for us too, we've advertised a system a little prematurely and in hindsight, we shouldn't have.

It seems that it's ready to go now though, Ross seems happy (and he's a fussy one!) we just need to jig it up from Ross' car and then it's on to the next one.

As soon as we have an answer on the tailpipe trims, we'll update the thread in our trader section with the info, we are also looking to do a group buy of sorts, which again, we will update soon.

Thanks for listening!

Thanks for the update guys - always useful to hear it 'straight from the horses mouth' so to speak.

I think Ross has done what most people wouldn't do by giving his car to help develope the weld fab Exhaust
Fair play to him, he's posted some interesting stuff on the b8 section, I think it's a pity his leaving the fold and good luck to him

For what it is worth, my RS5 had an ABT system fitted. It cost £2500 by the previous owner with 2 year warranty and was loud (good loud) in Dynamic mode.
I guess they do a B8 version. Possibly worth investigating?

If you want to hear one, buy one or listen to someone elses. I believe there are now B8's booked with JCWF so that shouldn't be too hard to organise now.

I've wasted enough of my life arguing the toss over something that frankly i don't give a <beep> about anymore - several people on this thread, including you, have worn me down to the point where I'm not prepared to reply anymore. If that was the objective, congratulations. If it wasn't, then perhaps review the posts you've made and see if you can figure out why.

Either way - I'm done here. Unsubscribing. Enjoy your exhausts.
Sharmone.

This is a case of I'm supporting my choice and if you don't like it then I'm gonna say <beep> off. Ross you need to calm down dude, you're expressing a perspective on your exhaust that all will question, you are if you like becoming the sales agent.

I really emplore your approach to supporting a small business in the UK - hell wouldn't I know that right know. But these people are not all going to follow you, as they will make their own decisions, which you may have influenced, but not decided - it is their choice.

So buddy calm down, and jcwf - guys it is time to separate yourselves from the fact that you need guys like Ross to lend you their cars for months to make it work. You have a working product which you should sell big time now, as I'm sure it's great. But free Ross to continue his valuable contribution to this forum.

Maybe he took advantage of you saying it would be great, maybe you took the same.

Shame it came to this - I mean over a freaking exhaust?

Hello all, treated myself to a MY15 RS4.

So I thought more air to the engine is a good thing. MRC filters first and then a hunt for a exhaust system. After reading the substantial content on this page and talking to a fellow owner, decided to go with a capristo.

Just about to plonk a deposit down and then the audi dealer emails me:

"In regards to changing the exhaust it would affect your warranty as it isn't an Audi approved part. If anything mechanically was to go wrong (engine, gearbox etc) then it wouldn't be covered. However if say your locks failed then it that would still be covered. Safest thing would be to wait until car is 3 years old unless your happy to run the risk of losing the warranty."

I'm no expert but on a NA car you don't get the power gains one experiences on a turbo car. On mine I would probably get maximum 10bhp. All i'm doing is improving air flow and noise ( :nodder: ), so how why does Audi have the right to make a statement like that?

The factory sports jobbie is nice but I would like more noise.

Basically, it sounds to me like they have sand in their pants. They can't void the warranty just because of the exhaust being changed. And they would need to prove that any issue was because of the exhaust, which lets be honest, is most unlikely. As an alternative, look at the warranty of the exhaust also to see what that covers. As I think we all know, I have a replacement system yet I've had plenty of works carried out under warranty. OK, nothing for the engine or gear box etc, but still all fine.

HTH.

A quick update on Ross's earlier points....

The exhaust is awesome! Sounds fantastic when bumbling around, loud but not obnoxious. Then put it in sport and run through the gears and it's just lovely! Puts a smile on my face every time....

I'm like a naughty kid when I look at the switch to turn it up... Then flick it and off we go!

Nothing of note. There's a bit when in sport between 1,500 and about 1,750rpm. But why would you be in sport at those revs :) in normal there's none.

Having never had an aftermarket exhaust on a car before (a few on bikes) I was a little nervous of it. That all went after a few short blasts and a thousand miles or so I'm now and I couldn't be without it!

But I'm now considering taking my 996 to them as well to get them to sort out my Porsche Sports Exhaust!

Interesting.... sounds identical to the Cap, and as stated before (probably as per the JCFW), you really have to 'work' to get it. Good to hear its delivered the desired results.

It would be good for a group of cars to get together for a comparison.

We would need one each of:

Milly
Akra
JCWF
Capristo
Standard sports

I've got the latter. Based in bucks but willing to travel a little

Any takers?
