Il wait til i drive for myself, but its pretty much the same set up as the RS5,reviews havent been been to complimentary in the handling department so far, comments suuggest you really have to wind it up to get it performing arent what i want from a road based everyday car.Its only my observations from feedback on testers reports and experiance of driving the RS5,Im sold on the looks of the b8 and love the gearbox but other areas seem in question? It has to tick the majority for me to consider the move,my b7 didnt tick all boxes but tuning for more power i knew would be possible, sorting out a chassis or junking drc isnt an area id want to get into on a new car!

The facelift RS 5 is revised based on the RS 4
So if you drove the gen 1 RS 5 then you will likely be suprised

Also, let's not be silly, the car will not be slow if not wound up

Its low on torque as if the B7 so you need to be in the right gear or you will be done by a 3.0TDI

Invite for preview drive

Personally I think it'll be great, better than the B7, but then I'm assuming it'll be better than my S4 which is better than a B7 !!!!

My invite must have been lost in the post.

Newer isnt always better, take the m3 for example,e30 was awesome e36 not so good,e46 awesome and many regard as better than the new model.I remain open minded until ive driven for myself.

I'm not at all jealous, 535dboy

I'm now quite looking forward to seeing one of these in the flesh. Does anyone know when they're likely to start appearing in dealerships, so that us little people can get up close to one?

That may well be true longdog, but only if you're interested in rocking the travelling-salesman look :bigblink:

Good shout, longdog.

With some flared wheel arches, an "R" in the badge and no jacket hanging in the rear passenger window, the salesman vibe will be a thing of the past...you know it makes sense :beerchug:

Back on topic...I hope the preview drive goes well, 535dboy. It sounds like it's going to be some time before I get anywhere near one.

Got my invite to the drive day today
I'm booked into the afternoon session at Millbrook on oct 24th
Hopefully they'll have a few configurations there as I'm mainly interested to see the difference on how it drives between the various wheel sizes, steering options and of course DRC
Should be fun anyway, and nice to get a good drive in the car whilst I'm still in two minds as to whether I want one or not
