Tyres - Whats everybody getting
Re: Tyres - Whats everybody getting
I had Bridgestones and liked the grip but the car tramlined badly under load from new so I switched to Conti's and though it doesn't stick like it used to, they are quieter and don't tram, they were also (relatively) cheap.

Price Update
Mytyres are offering £242.50 for the Pilot Sport 4s although they aren't rated R01 / R02 and my Audi dealer says they aren't a recommended fitting, Michelin unsurprisingly say its ok.
Some talk on other forums of Audi cutting up rough if you have warranty suspension work with non approved tyres, just net gossip I suppose but I thought I should just throw it out there.
Black Circles are £254.99 fitted/ £236.99 tyre only.
Certainly looks like the Sport 4 s is the way to go. Thanks for all the input.

they did, pads were low which i knew before i took it in but they did try for the disks too..
Re: Tyres - Whats everybody getting
Hilarious as the jokers won't put rubber on their own approved used vehicles unless they are below 3mm. This is the minimum needed to meet Audi's own 145-point checkchandler99 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2017 7:16 amJust had my car in at audi who now seem to be recommended tyre changes with 4mm death left. surely this is too early?

Re: Tyres - Whats everybody getting
True but from 4mm it's all downhill really.
You also need to factor in that the dealership, will most likely not see the car again for the next 18,000 miles or 2 years. On cars like ours, tyres with only 4mm will not last that long, so any good dealer should be advising the customer of the situation and advising to replace now.
The vast majority of motorists are not 'in tune' with their cars condition and it's the service centres job, to ensure that the car can make the next service interval in good road worthiness.

New to group but are these too cheap to be any good ?
Re: Tyres - Whats everybody getting
I've run the Toyo Proxy Sports in 20s before, they're 'ok'. Are 94 tyres correct loading for RS4?
No matter where you go, there you are.

On the point about a stealer recommending tyre change (as well as any other work) too early...
I'm not sure how Audi stealers operate, but I had an interesting convo with a mate who is a tech at a Land Rover dealer. They receive substantial bonuses each month for meeting/exceeding quotas for how many hours of follow-on work they secure from each customer visit. I.e. The tech's are heavily incentivised to say there's a problem when there isn't. This shouldn't really be news to anyone who's been to a stealer, but always worth keeping in mind.
The bit that surprised me was the scale of the bonuses. He mentioned a colleague that had received £3k in bonuses in a month from selling follow on work.
