You're right of course - regardless of the price paid, I do honestly feel like I got a good deal and a great car to boot. I'm happy with it and that's all that matters I guess.

Mr V10 (apologies I don't know your name!) - I'm interested to hear where dealers make (and lose) money so if you have a moment I'd love an insight.

Circa 13.5% is dealer margin. 16% is rockstar maybe funded via demo program.

I got 15.25% off. On my invoice that discount is listed and broken down as...

£2k SHA contribution
£2k VWFS contribution
£5k new car discount

The invoice total excludes the £4k total contribution. So I'm assuming that on their paper trail they only officially discounted the car by £5k, and their other £2k(£4k minus £2k from VWFS) contrib is pushed/hidden into another cost centre.
