Just wondering if there is an update to this thread?

Looking at ARBs as it has taken me a few months to figure out what's wrong with the RS4s handling vs my M3.

It's the roll that seems to make the car less responsive in corners, I think. There is a fractional delay in the shifting of the car's mass after turning the steering wheel, almost like a boat. I think reducing roll would be the answer, maintaining ride comfort and everything else.

Do you have DRC? And I assume you mean on its hardest settings?

Probably. You'd think the standard suspension would at least handle less boat like

Planning this upgrade for our demo RS4 hopefully before our Ring trip
in April.

Currently running kw coilover Spring kit
Which has cleared the knocking noise, sharpened up the handling and lowered too.

DRC spec car also.

I ran the H+R ARBs on my 2011 S3 which was quite heavily modified, and it made a huge difference to the way the car handled. It was a lot firmer though, and after coming to the RS4 B8 about 2 weeks ago, I'm deeply in love with the cars comfort setting.

Having the option to have a smooth softer driving car when I want it, and then the more stiff, harsher setting when I need it, is like heaven on earth.

Especially when you consider that I used to even run 20" A6 Rotors on it, combined with living in the good old countryside.

I didn't understand what all the fuss was about with everybody moaning about the harshness of dynamic ride mode, I was like " this used to be my comfort setting in my S3 "!!!!

Instead of posting a new post I thought best to resurrect this as search will pick it up for future forum queries.

I’ve just started my research. Can someone tell me the standard ARB spec? There’s a hint above that it’s 30mm/24mm but it would be good to confirm.

I’m after RS4 B8/8K options. I’m not interested in other B8s

My research so far reveals that the B8 RS4 front is 26.5mm and the rear is only 16mm due to sports diff and DRC.

The S4 is 21.7mm so would be a worthy OEM upgrade.

Interesting research, the only sure way is to get under and try get a measurement. I've just had a look on the parts catalogue and no size is given for the front, but the rear as you say is listed as 16mm? Yet an RS5 rear is listed as 22.5mm.

Front rollbar part number is the same for both RS4 and RS5 but different to other B8 models. When fitting my exhaust, I do vaguely remember looking at the rear rollbar and thought it looked a bit puny.

Speak to MRC, they’ve done it and know what will work.

I think there be a difference between the DRC equipped RS4/5 and the non-DRC. If the none DRC rear RS5 ARB is 22.5mm that’ll be the one to go for I think.

Like you say, getting under and measuring (and getting part numbers) is the definitive way to do this.

I’d have thought this knowledge was already out there though to be honest.

@marc1 would be nice to have this info here so others can draw from it too.
