I'm with you Shinobi, the steering is pants. Not sure if its the 20in wheels and tyres, but in comfort it is inconsistently light, but seems to tramline quite easily and be pulled about. There are times when it feels like you are fighting the car to stay straight unless you're on a super smooth surface. And in dynamic, it just gets stupidly firm at low speeds. There is no happy medium.

i've always liked the V-spokes, though I ended up buying an RS4 with may least favourite wheel - bright silver rotors. On the plus side, they do suit the ally trim on the rest of the car and are super-easy to clean. And wheels are the easiest item to swap when you fancy a change.

I had mine new with dynamic steering and I have got used to it. I was getting really bad tram-lining for the 1st 18k, I swapped the factory Perelli P-Zero's for Michelin PSS and it all went away, hasn't tram-lined since, so not down to the dynamic steering system but the crap tyres.

If you are experiencing tram-lining I'd say get rid of them, if they are Pirelli's that is.

I test drive a TTS earlier that the wife's looking at. Steering was so much better than my RS4. There must be something that can improve the steering.

I've got the vestethingymagig tyres on mine, don't have an issue with tramlining but do have the rest still.

I've installed K&N Panel Filters recently, having used them on previous cars before. There was a slight improvement in throttle response, and from 5k upwards there was a much stronger pull from the engine. The increase in induction noise was pretty good as well. However, since installing them I've noticed that there is a little more lumpiness to the engine at times. Not sure why or if it's related. I may swap back to the paper filters and see what the difference is. However the engine is generally smoother.

Regarding the tramlining, geometry set-up plays a big part in how much the car tramlines. had mine set-up by Centre of Gravity a while back and the handling went from being pretty good to superb. Having had the front shocks replaced recently the car is back to how it was before it was fettled so need to get it back to COG...
