I have to admit it, tyres are the only things that keep these machines on the road, if it was a fiesta I would repair, but seing as you have a 450bhp car with no doubt your family in I would be paying out for a new tyre, even if its just for piece of mind.

As long as the nail hasn't touched the inside of the sidewall I'd definitely repair it, you'd be throwing money away otherwise. Why do people think a repaired puncture would make a tyre dangerous? You could abuse the crap out of it and would be perfectly fine.

Dad owns a tyre place and I used to work for him, including doing repairs.

£200 odd quid for peace of mind and seeing as they are a week old.......i'd buy another. Get the old one repaired stick it on ebay as "repaired" and you'll get $50-100 back.....

Assuming it is a standard 265 section, legally you can repair the hole as long as it is >= 40mm from the edge.
Tyres that have been repaired properly and professionally are just as safe as they were before the puncture - we all give tyre manufacturers enough money as it is and there is really no need throw another £250 at them every time you run over a nail.

Exactly!! I've had a couple of tyres plugged in the past with no issues, it's perfectly safe

A reputable tyre place will have a template to place over the tyre from the edge. That will tell them if it's inside or outside the repairable zone.

Looks like it should be, I would get it measured out at a decent tyre fitters first

Good idea, tbh I decent tyre fitter isn't going to let you drive away with a dangerous tyre, if it safe I would keep it
But if you want 100% peace of mind then new tyre it is

As long as your comfortable with that....I wouldn't be. It would niggle me knowing. I guess you have just as much chance of s blow out with a new tyre as you do with a repaired one but......
