I'd wager the crown gear centre differential and the rear torque vectoring diff are slightly more lossy than the B7.
Also the majority of the extra 30 hp gain is above 8 rpm so much harder to exploit in top gear.
Finally the B8 is 7 speed and it may be that 7th is too long and 6th too short.

My old restricted RS5 would do 168mph 4 up I'm told, it got there pretty easy I'm lead to believe, I'm sure the RS4 would to.
