Yes she was a racing driver and instructor but having seen her drive "in the flesh" as it were I'd label "average at best". Mr Plato and Mr Needell are in a whole other league.Brooner wrote:ok maybe a stretch to say racing driver but she was and instructor at silverstone and i would rate her feed back of a car more than the orangutan on top gearadsgreen wrote:Vbh? If so then whilst technically a 'driver' in a 'race' I wouldn't use the term 'racing driver' about.Brooner wrote:yep disapointed was hoping for somthing more indepth but it was a positive review from an ex race driver

If VBH wasn't a chick I doubt very much she'd be anywhere in the industry.
That aside, do you want a racing driver to evaluate cars like the RS4? Tricky.
Most will be after a very specific set of handling traits and more often then not a degree of oversteer with great balance that really can only be tamed by suitably skilled and experienced people. The downside to having cars setup for racing drivers is that they make them a bit nevrous for us mere mortals. Granted, electronics have come quite a way to blurring this distinction but I see it as a similar argument as testing on the Nurburgring. It's not relevant to drivers on the road or other circuits.
Hmm... perhaps VBH isn't so bad after all in that she kinds sits in the middle.
