Has anyone had a Japanese imported RS4?

I am potentially getting one, from a reputable importer, just curious if anyone else has gone down this route?

Obviously the biggest thing will be service history, but the cheaper road tax, higher chance of no rust and cheaper cost is what's drawing me.

I've got a 2013 Japanese import (see viewtopic.php?f=121&t=144923) which I bought from a trader who had it imported "to see what it was like".

When I bought it, it was already comverted to UK dials/radio so I have no idea what exactly was done, but it is exactly as you describe. Cheaper road tax (currently £360 for the year), pristine underside of the car (when I had my exhaust modified the guy commented that he'd never seen such a clean underside on a 11 year old car).

Mine came with full Japanese Audi main dealer service history, which with the use of Google I mostly translated to verify. Don't assume you're not getting any paperwork, but don't expect it either. It all depends on what happens at the Japanese auction. You can do a Japanese HPI check on the car if you have the VIN number here: https://carvx.jp/. Mine even had the auction photo's on it (although tiny).



All in all, I am really pleased I went this route... even though I've just put it up for sale (for other reasons).
