P17D800 Error code Torque limitation due to clutch Temp help

Hi,

Can’t find anything on here apart for an S8 post, I was hoping someone had come up against this error code:

P17D800 Error code Torque limitation due to clutch Temp

Been waiting 5 months ( due to lockdown & backlog) to visit a recommended guy to complete my gearbox adaptation, during this time I felt a low speed vibration in 1st & 2nd gear, more recently feeling like clutch slip in 3/4 gear..

Anyhow took it along today & he wasn’t able to complete the work & as it came up with the P17D800 code?

Any ideas? He suggested clutch, however also read it might be the mechatronic??

Either way it’s going to be a pricing job as no warranty, so I’ll need to get right once

Hey!

Ive fixed this issue on a few rs4 and q5 boxes simply by doing a software update on the box! If your running an early version this is worth doing before even thinking about doing anything else!

How many miles has it done since the last service on the box?

Hi. I have a 2011 RS5 with the error P17D800 Torque limitation due to clutch temp. How would I go about getting the gearbox software update? Is this a visit to my Audi dealer? Do you have any version information that might help me.

Latest version is 0006

following with interest.

i get what appears to be clutch slip when crawling on the motorway in 2nd and just coming off idle.
