Mirror Dip
Mirror Dip
I have a 2015 RS4 with wingbacks and wanted to know if there is a way I can get the mirror to dip when reversing. I have had this on all previous cars but I can’t seem to find anyway to get this to work on the RS4? I have read this is an option with the memory seats which I don’t have but I’m a little shocked this wasn’t a standard feature (or I’m being thick which is quite possible)
Re: Mirror Dip
Put car into reverse, select which mirror you want dipped and adjust to desirex view.. should return to normal view when back into drive. Did with me!!
Re: Mirror Dip
If not enabled it's easy to do with an obd tool like obd11

Re: Mirror Dip
Agreed, sometimes it seemed to loose its memory but you have to do it again. I think it returns to normal position as you drive off and get to a certain speed.

Thanks for the replies I got to Natels having tried to set while in reverse doesn’t seem to work with the mirror just remaining in the dipped position.
Is the OBD option cheap and easy to use or am I better finding a specialist who can take a look?

Re: Mirror Dip
Did you leave the mirror select knob set to the passenger side mirror?
Obd11 tool was about 40euros last time I looked. A tool worth having in my opinion as can do both coding and scanning of fault codes.

Re: Mirror Dip
I had tried with it remaining on passenger mirror and also back on the central position but no joy
Re: Mirror Dip
Sounds like the feature may not be enabled. Where you based M10clm? Someone local may do coding for you in exchange for beer tokens
I'm in North West England with obd11 if you're close.

Thanks, I’m based in Berkshire. If not I’ll see if I can get hold of the obd11 kit. Seems like it could be a good investment
Re: Mirror Dip
Read the manual.
You have to set your adjustment knob to a certain position for it to work.
I believe you have to set it to the passenger mirror and then it will dip once reverse is engagend.
If not, set it to the passanger mirror, put the car in reverse, adjust the mirror and put the car back in D - the mirror should go back to the default position.

Re: Mirror Dip
Yes, iirc once set it MUST be in passenger position to dip.
As above to set, with knob in passenger position - select reverse - adjust mirror to where you want it - drive off. It should then return to its normal position.
Next time you select reverse it should dip provided the knob is in passenger position.

Re: Mirror Dip
Thanks for the tips. Having followed the guidance it is not working so I assume this is either not enabled or simply not working. Can anyone with wingbacks confirm if this feature works on their cars? Doing some reading there is a lot of reference to it working in conjunction with the electric memory seats. That said I can’t believe a fairly basic feature would be disabled when changing seat option
Re: Mirror Dip
So having got my hands on an obd11 I have now activated this feature on the car. Makes such a difference when reverse parking, just wished I sorted it out earlier.
