Driver's seat loose?

Post by Manmoths » Thu Dec 08, 2022 5:25 pm

Hi all,

Recently my driver's seat has become slightly loose - you notice it when pulling away or pushing back in the seat.

It's not loose at the mounting points in the chassis, so is likely loose inside the seat base somewhere. Is this a common thing or has anyone had this issue before?

Cheers!

Mine is solid, has the seat been removed before... aftermarket cabling maybe ?

I've got a 'rocking' chair too. Really annoying. It feels like it's just the back tbh, but I've not had chance to take a good look.

I have experienced symtons like this before (although not in my RS4) - the metal seat frame had fractured. Sometimes associated with a 'cracking' sound as the two pieces of broken frame contact each other. Required the seat stripping down and the fracture welding. Probably best getting a vehicle upholstery trimmer involved being honest - even if the frame is ok, it probably needs the seat facings (partially) removing to find the cause.

Exactly this! Mine felt the same.

On closer inspection, it seems to be the whole frame. I need to have a proper look this weekend.
