Have driven one, if that’s helps. My answer would be NO. The older version is very plastic and dull, my opinion. Although, they are quick!!

In my eyes not really a fair comparison.

My B8 is my daily family Swiss army knife, a GTR would be a toy.

Does depend on your situation of the B8 is a toy then maybe but as above not an early one.

Could ypu give us more info on the situation?

Thanks guys!
So my RS is a daily and I do love it, as we know it’s an amazing car and been nothing but a pleasure for almost 3 years of ownership. I’ve been looking at used B9’s which so for similar money I could consider the GTR.
It been a dream car since it came out (but to be fair so was a B7 RS) and drove one at the top gear track in the wet. It was good and quicker than mine despite having a hard life! I also drove a knackered old R8 which was good too apart from an awful gearbox.
Agreed the early ones are best avoided but I think I could end up with a 2014/15 GTR for my budget so not really ahead... and it would need to be my daily too.
