I still like the black limited edition one at Audi....
Just can’t quite get my head around the price
Well there must be some room for negotiation? Worth a call?

I've been looking online for a couple of months, budget is more around £25k, so most of the cars linked here are a little out of my reach. There are a couple I've got my eye on, but I couldn't buy a car in lockdown without going for a test drive. I'm sure many people feel the same way, so I suspect prices will jump in April once the garages reopen.

Prices don't seem overly consistent, there are some basic spec cars being advertised for the same price as a fully loaded example, so I assume some dealers don't fully understand what they have. Currently, this one looks like good value to me (just not the colour I'm looking for):

Ditto, I'm in exactly the same position as you. Same issue and perspective!

I am the same I have been told I can "click and collect" but no extra right of return if I don't like it.

Given my previous experience with ASM Motors/Torque Point I will not be paying a penny till I drive it.

You are theoretically covered under distance selling regs, which would legally give you 14 days to return it for any reason - even if you just changed your mind. I was seriously considering buying a Q5 with this in mind. However, the reality is that once the garage has your money, you're somewhat at their mercy. They could simply refuse to accept the return, at which point you have to go down the route of taking legal action, which is likely to be a massive hassle. I managed to find a few examples online where people had this exact experience, which ultimately made me decide to wait a bit longer!

If you push it and say you won't buy without driving, most of them will cave in!

Theoretically yes but when I bought my last car I didn't notice a vibration till I hit 70 for sustained period. Gave them a call right away and they said they had balanced the wheels and I must've hit a pothole and bent the wheel. Instantly I knew what was going on and lo and behold when I got the car up in the air the next morning 2 wheels had very obvious repairs to them. Called again and was fobbed off for about 2 months before I gave in and just set my cousin who works for HMRC on them and their parents and their cousins and their parents friends and their cousins and their friends.

Worked out quite nicely for HMRC but still cost me 2 new wheels and 2 tyres they promised me but then went back on as "they had been damaged after I left".

What needed was not a cousin in HMRC - but a strongly worded solicitors letter outlining the shoddy repairs. Facing thousands of legal costs they always buckle.

Mine was one of the last from factory. Registered May 2015.
Don’t believe there were any 65 plates. But don’t quote me!
Mine is a November 2015, 65 plate Ltd Edition one. 27k miles.

Tried citizens advice, a solicitor neither of which were very supportive or held out much hope!

Having the taxman feel the arse of their entire community was worth what it cost me in wheels and tyres.

Although flying a drone fly over their lot spraying brake fluid would have been fun it is also criminal damage!

If I remember correctly production stopped April/May 2015. They could of been a few left at dealers then later registered.

Order book closed in February 2015 for a factory build so final delivery was April / May.
There were loads of pre ordered in dealer stock at end of production so you’re probably right there Corky.
