Post by Rs4b8AA » Thu Nov 05, 2020 12:41 pm

Hello!

So i changed to downpipes but is far from happy with the sound, i need som x.pipes like this: (shipped from UK, or Europe) for the same price.

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-parts/r ... =rs5_xpipe

Any one?

Edit:
I called milltek about MSAU577REP, they told me it wont fit OEM exhaust...
I called Remus, they have a pice but will not fit OEM exhaust mufflers.

Yeah, its a bit slow on here. I'm thinking of changing my exhaust too. I was going to start with removing the down pipes and replacing with straight pipes. The centre i was going to leave in for now.
How has the sound changed on your RS. Do you get a bit more burble?
Daytona Grey, Bilstein Coilovers, Pre-cat delete, Centre resonator delete, IM flaps/vains delete, Interior/Exterior LED kit, CAI, Black Optics.

I'm just a little frustrated because I'm stuck. Regarding downpipes, there will be a difference mainly when it comes to downshifts, but as you know, you have to go up to the higher RPM to "notice any difference". I have switched to downpipes for almost all my cars and this was the car that made the least change in sound, (and then I have sports exhaust system OEM).

I'm quite surprised at that, so I'm assuming they are not very restrictive. You could try removing the centre resonator, to see what difference that makes.

I have sports exhaust as well with flaps always open. Want moore sound and looking for the same thing.
Have not found anything real interesting.
I think I will just build it myself instead. Should be pretty straightforward.
Does anyone know the dimension of the standard pipes?

I think the Milltek Non Res is what you are actually after. Non res downpipes included, non res center system and new back valves back boxes.

It an H Pipe center pipe as opposed to X Pipe

It is loud, valves shut is louder than Sports Exhaust with valve open, quite a smooth creamy V8 noise is how I describe it - ideal daily volume. Valves open is like thunder. Bit boomys below 3.5k rpm, on maximum attack it is an utterly perfect v8 scream.

With the valves set to auto/comfort I find the valve opening at 3.5k rm quite intrusive, if you just happen to stray over the threshold or press the throttle to far at 70mph on the motorway the valves open and it goes suttle to in your face, it's quite annoying. I ended up buying a valve control box to keep the valves permanently shut on the motorway.

I'm going to be removing mine soon I think for Darkside downpipes and OEM Sports Exhaust. The 3.5k rpm crossover is a bit much and valves open below 3.5k rpm it is a bit boomy for me.

For me, i am not in to spend 2000+ pounds when i can get something like ECS pipes for 300 dollar. I all ready spended 400 pounds on downpipes. I am not talking bad about milltek but i find that company like "just get the stuff out fast and make it loud, we dont waste time on fine tuning those exotic sound, just make it loud and mainstream company". Those mailnstream thing tends to lack in details. Anyway, i have never been impressive, thats the same withe acra to be honest. Superspint, meistershaft, capristo is on another level. I will just wait for respons from ESC or make my own x-pipes and save the money for new wheels.

Hi,

Did you end up going for the darkside downpipes and sports exhaust? Thats the setup i'l leaning towards and was interested in how you found it?
