Coming up for oil change time and last time it was a pain taking off approx 50 screws to get the undertrays off.
I wondered if i could use a pump and go in through the dipstick thats hidden under the Air filter.
I have started to find a few sites saying the sump is baffled and wont get it all out.
Might have to see if i can find an easier way to get access without taking the whole tray away.
Cannot believe i need to take off right round to bumper and air vents.
Surely must be easier to have a smaller hatch.
Any views or thoughts
Oil extraction pump -any thoughts
Re: Oil extraction pump -any thoughts
Correct about the baffles. On my b7 I used the extractor and later opened the sump plug to see how much was left in there . Approx 2 ltrs of oil .
Re: Oil extraction pump -update
Now then. Got a pump and managed to suck about 8 and a bit litres. Then got about 1/2 - 3/4 ltr out of the sump plug.
So worth the effort and saved a lot of potential mess.
And saved a load of cash

Have been told by a good friend of mine who has a RS5 b8 that he can get 9ltr out by using a extraction pump and jacking the rear drivers side up of the car as this will allow you to get almost every drop !!!
Re: Oil extraction pump -any thoughts
Will keep that in mind for the next time. Thanks
