Bluetooth Phoning with Data Sim Installed

Just got my RS4. Absolutely love it. Coming from an E92 M3, its quite a change. A lot more refined in terms of cruising around, and love the exhaust note with the sports exhaust.

I'm not at all familiar with the MMI system - I have inserted a data sim and have my phone paired over bluetooth, but when I go to make calls it defaults to the installed sim and says no credit (obviously as its data only). Is there a way to make it only use the bluetooth connected phone for calls?

Ive seen a few threads around this but cant figure out exactly what I need to do (if it can be done).

Any help much appreciated.

What year is the car?

Earlier cars could use one or the other. Later cars had revised hardware and software which allowed SIM for data and connected phone for voice.

I have both, SIM card is only for Data which you have. Need to connect phone in the BT as both Audio and hansdfree configuration, look in bonded devices. I use my data SIM for a mobile hotspot when in the car and also allows MyAudi account to connect to car sending Google map locations from the desk directly to the Navigation, this way you get to the exact spot on the map, not just a general location, drop the pin and go right there. I rarely put destinations in via the MMI as Google maps is so much more accurate, also get street view when getting lose to destination which helps find paces.

Ah that could explain it - it's March 2013. Take it you can't update the software as sounds more hardware needed as well?

As it was a 2013 car unfortunately it’s just how it is. Tbh I actually rarely use the SIM card and just put it in for longer journeys for traffic updates etc, so it’s less of an issue.
