Don't go having a go at my driving, its perfect. Just ask the courts if you don't believe me.

What price are you paying for the MPS's if don't mind me asking. PM if you want.

BTW, everyone knows remapped diesel BMW's are the fastest cars in the world. Just ask carlos (DXB335) on the PH forum LOL

White RS4's are the fastest, heard the same in a hungry horse pub.

You could make it even faster by replacing the beautiful original chrome mirror caps with ones painted in white. Oh I forgot you've already done that mod.

Didn't want to stick around too long around the area just in case it span into me whilst attempting to corner.
You tried a set of what on the 120d? AR1's? NS2R's?

Nankangs are known for being a bit <beep> - but that's the other end of the spectrum - the budget end. Their top end stuff (AR1's and NS2R's) is really very very good. Even more so for the price. Of course - on the BMW you're talking about, you probably mean about £50 a corner budget Nankangs. At which price point anything is going to be a bit crap, but yeah - the budget Nankangs do suck balls.

I've done back to back track testing on AR1's Vs 595RSR's & R888R's (same circuit, same day, same car) and the AR1's are one of the best tyres out there right now for outright dry grip. The AR1's are better all round for track use than an R888R in my testing - more overall grip, more durable and less quirky about pressure settings than the 888's. Given they're less than half the price of an 888, you'd be mad not to consider them based on the name if they suit your usage.

It took me a while to get over the stigma of the brand name but I'm a convert for track work. Cant go quicker for cheaper. :)

The vredestein tyres I put on the RS4 just before I sold it are really good also for the money - the only down side I found was they were a pig to fit. Don't know why that was but the bead wouldn't seat at all and it took my normal fitters hours to get them all on. For the money though, they're a great tyre on the RS4. Not PSS levels, but (imo) better than the crappy tyres that ship as new!

They bog standard Nankangs AS2s which also come in the RS4 size.

The ones you are referring to, am I not wrong in assuming they are track tyres?

Yes - AR1's and NS2R's are track orientated tyres. My original point was don't tar all Nankangs with the same brush though :)

AS2's are... not so good. :D

Apologies.

So to clarify my point:

Road spec Nankangs are rubbish. The black RS4 owner needs his dangly bits removed.
