EPC and emissions control light on when ignition on

Post by mick_thomson74 » Thu Nov 26, 2015 10:45 pm

Just had coil pack replaced for misfire on cylinder #2 and all plugs replaced after flashing emissions control light warned of problem. Now I've got the car back from Audi noticed the EPC and emissions lights stay on while key is in the ignition but the car has not been started. Is this normal as I can't recall and just want to check still no issues. I push the key and all lights illuminate briefly but these two lights stay on until the car is started then I have a dash clear of warning lights. Appreciate if anyone with an RS4 can try it out and let me know if this is normal behavior. Cheers.

Thanks guys appreciate the response. Do you notice while your car is idling a low level buzzing noise from the transmission? I've been told it's normal (flicking through the box from d, p, n etc... And it momentarily disappears until new position located). I had it looked at while in getting fixed and the noise is now not as loud so they've fixed it somewhat. They fitted new rubber washers or similar to the hydraulic pipes to the gearbox as it was noise from the oil in the pipes. Only notice it when car warm and sat stationary in traffic. Just wondered if this in fact a natural noise from the stronic (I've got no reason to doubt Audi as they've provided excellent support in recent years). I don't hear it from our A1 stronic but probably chalk and cheese! Mike
