Budget will be around 80k, hoping the new R8 opens up supply a bit...

Only others I'd look at would be; DB9, vantage, gallardo ftype coupe.

Not once had the desire to own a porker...however, might take a look. Plenty of options going just now.

If I had 80k to spend on a fast motor I'd buy a facelift R8 Plus

The word exotic does it for me.

I like the R8 but there's no thought in buying one, and therefore isn't exotic - it's a simple choice to make as you know it's good.

That then kicks out the 911, which erm is now similar - which BTW would be my choice, I can't wait to get back into a 911, this time that will be a GT of some variety.

Really your are looking for something nice, and using the word nice easily applies to 991, r8, etc etc

Exotic is something from the left field, something that could cost the earth to fix - you know properly proper, that's like a TVR or maybe fezza, lambo, you know something moody.

I know it doesn't get a lot of love on here, and yet, technically not "exotic" in the same way a Gallardo, but, wow does it excite the senses and put a huge grin on your face (and a boner just by looking at it!)

I did consider a 997 Turbo before buying the F, so not knocking it, but just wouldn't consider it 'exotic' but its all opinion.
Agreed it's an opinion, but I'd class a 911 Turbo certainly as exotic as a V10 R8 & more exotic than an F Type. The Turbo S is an epic car & now on a par given Audi's huge hike as the new V10 Plus. That said I'd happily have any of the 3.
