Some Damage - Any suggestions/advice

Post by ben_rs » Tue Jul 14, 2015 5:24 pm

Hi All, was giving the car a clean over the weekend and noticed some damage on the front wheel arch side skirt,

looks like something has come up off the tyre and smashed the front of the skirt, I can't believe what or when as I'm pretty sure I would have noticed hitting something or at least hearing it, however it's there now.

Current price from Audi to have the skirt replaced/sprayed is coming out at £950, will phone around some other approved repairers however I'm keen to make sure it's done properly.

Skirt is 350, I'm told it's 3 hours labour to take the old one off?? anyone ever tried know a bit more about this?

I'll try and get a picture up as well, nothing major but enough to put a dent in the wallet :)

The only Garage (approved or not) I would trust my cars with is Daventry Panel Craft - if you are close enough; they are the best - and usually really well priced - they've sprayed and looked after all my dings and chips for the last 10 years. Speak to Steve Catlin and mention Boff - I cannot recommend these guys enough; and I will travel from London to these guy to have their services.

They are so good that I find myself totally relaxed about dings; nicks; chips; and even serious bodywork (back end of my Subaru was removed by a truck - it came back better at the back end than the original car at the front)

Really Really Good; all my RS; GTR; Porsche etc etc owning mates go there

Thanks Boff I'll give them a call and see what they say, bit of a trek but willing to do what's needed to make sure things are done properly.

As for the damage here's one for conspiracy theorists as I've racked my brain trying to suss out how this happened, confused further by the additional but very similar scuff mark slightly further back on the wing, see the link for a couple of pics.

Any suggestions welcome!?
