That post is about as good as it gets. Boff. Legend.

I took so long deciding on what car to get and had totally overlooked the rs4, I think out of some crazy notion to work through a list of metal I need to own before I croak it one day. Eventually I saw one a few weeks ago and could have punched myself in the face. Test drive booked. Test drive car sold before I could get to it. It felt like I was too late. I spotted a new one at coulsdon audi in red, a beauty but I couldn't drive it as it was fresh off the boat so tried the rs5 cab to give me a taste. Worth noting I expect the 4 to be better! :) we can only have one car due to space so it needs to rick every box, especially with the possibility of a kid next year. The wife wanted a convertible but the pan roof should do, I've always loved the avant and there's something about being able to throw clubs in the back of a big boot. It'll do everything I'll need it to forever if needs be, and cool and rare to boot.

After some negotiating with coulsdon I got a call from Brighton to say they had one, ltd edition etc etc and they could beat the other dealerships lower spec car on price. Sold. Done. Card details gone.

I don't think I've ever been so frickin nervous about buying anything and so excited about getting something. This is my first new car of any value and a big milestone for me as a big petrolhead.

I'm pretty sure life won't get much better once that cover comes off.

I agree with the black red combo, probably would have been my combo of choice!

R.

Ah haaa!! You don;t need to suffer in silence, some great (councellors) guys on here!! infact helped me travel through the journey, i joined the forum in 2003 when I had my first RS4 and I hosted RS246 for PhilT all those years ago......

Card details gone - I'd compare that moment to "weight lifted".....

Buddy with possibility of a little one on the way you have so got this right, C63 - RWD; and that screen is toss, M3/M4 useless for anything apart from going super fast... Jag, not here yet. It is the perfect family motor.

My wife will not drive an A6, in london why should she???

Audi have built a cracker here, unfortunately the reviewers only ever go on about the handling etc, not the perfection of the package and experience... can't wait to see yours

You and me both, hopefully pictures around the end of May. I'm also keen for some meets too, I'm a GRRC and there's some V8 and barnstormer breakfast clubs later in the year but I'll be looking out for anything Sussex way.

Well there's about a two year waiting list so you'd have time to decide! :)

I think it's overpriced to be honest but I do like being a member. The breakfast clubs are a really good introduction ans the best bit is that they're free. It's good to get the members meetings now, that really adds to it (look up 72mm and 73mm - amazing metal) and also you get the members enclosures at the festival of speed and revival which are great.

Have you been to any of the events there?

Sounds fantastic! I'm amazed Brighton audi managed to call you though! I spent weeks trying to order my S4 through them a few months back and gave up as they just didn't seem remotely interested.
Look forward to seeing the pics when you collect! :)

I've had worse weekends!! No pics of the interior yet, doesn't really do it justice but I love the exclusive. I think the grey is the right level of subtlety. Just about! :bigblink:
