Re: Service book
I bought an S3 with 7k in the clock but Audi records showed 67k. The car was only 6 months old. Took ages to get it sorted but did in the end. Long live the stamped service book!!
Re: Service book
I've just bought a duplicate log book from my local dealer. It was circa £15. It is stamped by the dealer and has the vehicle details in it.

Have you got a part number for the book please?Jhcolling wrote:I've just bought a duplicate log book from my local dealer. It was circa £15. It is stamped by the dealer and has the vehicle details in it.

Re: Service book
Looking at the invoice, the only thing that looks like a part no is W.I.P No. 58169. The part description is AVCAB1 DUPLICATE SER
Re: Service book
Although Audi can supply duplicate service books, they look nothing like the original. The pages have duplicate printed over all the pages, and the actual content is not as detailed. It does not give specific tick boxes for items replaced, but just has spaces for the stamp, date and mileage.
Although better than nothing, not really an ideal substitute for the original AND for invoices, IMHO.

Re: Service book
In addition, the WIP no is not a part number - it is a job number allocated to a vehicle usually when booked in work; it identifies the vehicle and particular job / repair rather than using the customers name or registration number. From the parts departments point of view a WIP is allocated for easy reference for that particular sale.
