Looks very nice, you still haven't answered any questions about what this achieves apart from a nice looking engine bay, and a massive hole in your wallet

Been saving the stock Audi carbon cover that I purchased months ago. I wanted to install them at the same time so they would hopefully change colour at the same time(due to the yellowing of CF from heat in the engine bay)

Quick recap......

Comparing the weave patterns on the stock cf engine cover and the Gruppe M parts.

Can't really tell them apart in person.

I think besides the filter, the other design difference that's obvious is the length of the intake tray. Gruppe M's version is longer and lower.

It extends downwards and past the top of the front grill, I think for ram air effect. The centre section is blocked.

Some answers.

I have done enough bolt ons personally in the past to know not to expect any contribution in performance. I do however, enjoy a quality product and yes I think it dresses up the engine bay nicely(if you are into that sort of thing). I guess curiosity is another factor as I have never owned a Gruppe M product.

Didn't notice much difference in induction noise, because it's already drowned out by the Akra exhaust.

I am not sure if it's full carbon, could be what the other members are suggesting.

The purpose of the post, as usual, is to share information among owners. Thanks for reading! :bigwave:

Each to their own. I think I've only opened the bonnet twice in a year of ownership so would be lost on me :)

Looks very nice indeed. Was it actually £2.5k though?
Never personally had a GruppeM product myself but friends of mine have. One had issue with bolts inside air box working loose and getting drawn into the engine writing it off....Something to be aware of I would say....

Would be interested to hear if it did make any gains though performance wise.

For 2.5 large I'd want decent performance gains?.....I dare say apart from a bit of carbon for visuals, you won't get any noticeable difference.

Each to their own though.

Not my bag but I really enjoyed following this post, well done mate it looks like you have one very smart engine bay. Be interested to know your thoughts and impressions of the car with the Akra fitted, does it become a bit wearing?

If it makes no gains in power but just looks nice thats good enough for me,
IMO it looks great and makes looking at the engine bay even more special.
Thanks for posting.
