Recommend a DVD Player to fit seat back?

Post by Iain_S4 » Fri Sep 12, 2014 9:32 pm

Can anyone recommend a DVD player that will fit on the back of the seat (sports seats, not buckets). In my B7 I had a bracket that clamped to the legs of the head rest but obviously that's not going to work now. In any case I need a new DVD player so looking for a recommendation.

Hi Ian
I can't recommend a DVD player but I used these for the kids IPADS on the buckets of my last RS4 and they worked fine. Also got them on the new ones

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HEDGIE-FRISBE ... 43c48b1e9a

They came off alright with a bit of heat from the wife's hairdryer and after a quick clean you didn't know they had been there,
but that was on plastic don't know about how they would come off the sports seats.

IPAD and bluetooth head phones as must for any journey with kids
Current 2014 RS4 Sepang with optics, buckets.

isn't that just industrial Velcro?
It's all torque talk.

yes just industrial velcro and works quite good. Could probably get it cheeper, but I liked the shape as opposed to just some straight square block on the back of the seat.

DVD Player to fit seat back, Audi Mount for 9" Tablet Player

Post by Iain_S4 » Tue Oct 21, 2014 11:09 pm

Has anyone specced the "Mount for 9" tablet player" for £125? There's no additional information or pictures available on the configurator. I assume it is just a prep on the seat that it gives you and you have to then buy the mounting bracket separately. I can live with the prep hole in the back of the seat but not if all this crap is in place all the time - please see link below.

Only info I can find https://shops.audi.com/en_GB/web/zubeho ... leId=50361

Having not resolved finding a DVD player to fit the seats so I am considering trying to update the order to incude the above.

Unfortunately the industrial velcro isn't an option as the plastic part of the seat back does not come all the way up.

I have an ipad case with a elasticated strap that holds it around the headrest. The strap has 2 parts held together by velcro so you can pretty mch fit it to any type of headrest. Even works on my buckets with no problems.

I was looking to be a bit more old school and have a DVD player rather than an iPad.

Digging a little deeper it looks like £125 for the prep +£120ish for mount +£320ish for Audi entertainment mobile (compatible DVD) . . . so maybe not.
