Was reading somewhere the other day the car will only do it 200 times then will disable the system. Not that I've done it nor will do it, had an M5 for three years and never used it once!

Anyone been brave and given it a try?
Cheers,
David.

That's what driving a Gaylander for 14,000 miles does to you

I am curious how 4wd launch control works. I mean rwd is easier as you can use the speed difference between the driven rear wheels and the un driven front ones to work out how much slip you have.
I guess you could do it by super accurate wheel speed measurement to pick up the signs of pre slip but serious CPU power needed there.

Its not that clever, it just dumps the clutch and let's it get on with it.

I used mine a few times, although to be honest, it wasn't a whole lot faster than just turning off the TC, selecting Sport and then just stomping on the throttle - just more hassle to engage
Fwiw, I normally got better results in comfort suspension mode rather dynamic on a 'normal' road as the slight compliency in the damping allows more continuous traction

With drive select on the RS4 do you have to select individual mode every time you use the car, as on my Q5 it always starts in automatic which means having to select it everytime.

Current: 2017 RS6 Performance in Nardo Grey
Previous: 2014 RS4 in Sepang Blue; 2011 Q5 3.0TDi Sline Plus in Ibis White; 2007 Audi S5 4.2 V8 in Phantom Black; 2006 VW Golf GTi in Tornado Red; 1998 VW Golf 1.9 TDi in Navy Blue; 1988 VW Polo 1.0 in Gold
