Time to move on buddy. Trade it in and get the V10+ an A4 as a daily.
If they can't resolve it, I'm going to sack it off completely and get a c63 + 911

911's That's my area of spec' G.
Guess you'll be using the Merc for day, so the budget and intended use for the toy would put you in the 997?

A friend has a 991C2S and it's a really nice car, but way out my price range as a toy
Did look at 997.2 GT3, but they're going up in money at the moment and possibly out my reach too. Recently test drove a 997.2 Turbo S and that was quite a serious weapon
Who knows. If I get a porsche though, I'll always pine for the v10 sound of the r8+, but Audi and I are currently not on speaking terms ! Haha
I was hoping to get two years out of my RS4, but the way it's being handled by Audi uk, right now I'd happily
just hand it back

How hard can it be to sort the brakes?

I looked at 991C4S and 997.2 turbo. Problem with the later is that I'd want the dynamically superior former. But the 991, not in turbo guise is a bit low on power. 991 turbo is the daddy but mega cash.

Then there's R8, but lack of extra seats and the aged tech put me off.

C7 RS6 it is.

Circa mid/upper 60k will get you a very nice 997.1 GT3; a little more GT3RS. They are a hoot on the track even though its not the latest gen'.

What are yours doing? Mine seem to struggle to stop the car and they have started squeaking again, not as bad as before but enough to be annoying. 3k on the clock now.

Glad I've got ramics, they feel spot on.With something as important as your brakes you would think Audi would jump!! To get this sorted :audibash:

Graeme...have you asked for ceramics as a solution?

I'd sack off Audi.

I have asked for the upgrade. Even offered to pay the difference, but nothing in terms of a response

The new discs/pads/calipers are only 4 weeks or so since fitment and the car vibrates so badly that my bike shakes on the roof bars. Even the dealer said it was dangerous and not to drive it and my wife refuses to go in it as it makes her feel sick

It Wouldn't be a problem if they'd just fix it, but all they do is test and test and test with no view of when it'll be fixed and no real communication. Dealer has already reported that discs are warped (has not seen anything like hard use since fitting), but Audi uk seem to be like dealing with the chuckle brothers (Audi Swindon have bent over backwards to help I might add)
The concern is it's not the discs, but the effect of something further up the system as the brakes seem to be dragging as it generates massive heat even when just driving on the motorway

I'd asked audi uk, not unreasonably IMHO, that if they're taking my car in for an unknown length of time to refer the issue to the factory (that could well be months) that they provide me with a reasonable car to use during that period - my request was for another RS4, but I've got a brown diesel a6 instead

I appreciate these problems happen and they'll deal with it in a reasonable time frame, but all I ask is that if they say they'll call me back on a certain day, that they do and if they ask for my car to be at the dealer for a certain day at the start of this problem, that they at least provide the dealer with the special tool they needed for the requested tests.
I'm quite anal with knowing what's going on, so not knowing and not having calls returned is doing my head in
Coupled with the windscreen wipers that no longer work (parts not available for fix even though I suspect they're normal A4 common), window trim that needs bimonthly dealer visits for lubricating to stop it squeaking and a cooling that that starts up randomly even when cold and my faith in Audi is falling apart

My intention to buy an R8 has all but disappeared and I'm considering sacking the daily RS4 back to them, asking for some money back and visiting AMG for a new C63 which have great deals at the mo
