RS3 to RS4...

Post by Knobby » Thu Mar 06, 2014 10:11 pm

Hi Guys..

I currently own an RS3.. Love it just fancy a change. If the new RS3 was out I'd probably go with that but with Audi new incentive scheme its tempting me to go for an RS4 instead..

Just pondering on costs a little. Looks like the finance is going to cost about the same as my RS3 as the residual value is so good on the RS4. Anyone had their first service yet? What sort of money can you expect? My first oil service on the RS3 was £250 and first inspection £370. Tyres are about £800 a set, the RS4 looks to be about £1000, I know the tax jumps up a little, £280 compared to £475. Insurance is about the same.

I guess the next cost difference will be fuel! £75 gets me about 280 miles in the RS3 What could I expect in the RS4?

Spec wise, I am looking at Sepang Blue, Sports pack, 20 x 9J ‘5 V-spoke, Convenience package, Heated front seats... Anything else thats a must?

Cheers

Dave...

B&O is a must. Buckets to give it that RS feeling IMO but others will disagree. Hill hold at £65 you may as well add.

My RS 5 got average of 15mpg which I guess is less than 200 miles to a tank.

Buckets are meh for me, for everyday they'd get trashed. Go try them and decide.

Fuel is pretty bad, it'll be 30% worse than the RS3. If you're thinking about costs then probably not the right car....

Thanks for the replies.. Not concerned about the costs but I think its sensible to find out first before jumping in.

Sounds like there are some good deals to be had out there.

Do it. I went from TTRS to RS4 and pay less a month. Fuel is bad but part and parcel of V8 ownership. Sports pack, hill hold, b and o and NO to buckets. Conv. Pack only if you need memory seats.
