Remap and filters on a C7 I would expect to blow away an equivilant C6.
Agreed. It's lighter and has a better slosh box.

Yeah, we did 4.19 on a damp country lane with quite a lot of wheel spin
I've not doubt it'd do 3.X comfortably on a dry surface on a cold day
The performance of the car isn't the launch though, it's the ability to rearrange your face at 60mph just by mashing the throttle
Mtm do a 650bhp mod, but (and I feel ashamed to say this) I can't imagine you'd ever need more power than that in such a type of car

did you feel the way when you are just cruising and then you floor it the remaining 4 cycl's wake up and its just away? incredible job they have done with the C7 over the C6 I think.

Agreed, imperceptible. Just happened. I asked the sales chav whether there was any visual indication, which there isn't.

Stop/start was a bit odd in crawling traffic, you'd have to modify your driving style a little.

I turned the stop/start straight off. I'm sure the differences in consumption are huge, but it just irritated me as, although the noise was fine, the weighting and then assistance of the steering was a little harsh - ie, you pull to a junction and you stop, but then give an 1/8 of a turn of lock before taking your foot from the brake and pulling away whilst increasing the lock - with stop/start activated, you can't give any lock until the engine starts back up as the power assistance is completely deactivated and there's no way you're moving 21" tyres on a 2tonne car whilst not moving

Very simply, it makes them both feel like a high revving 1.8ltr
It really is monsterously fast. In fact, it's neck bendingly fast and probably the equal of the R8 V10+ I had for the day recently once you get up to speed, but obviously not as dramatic
Dynamically, it's a hammer rather than a scalpel, but as an A road/motorway crusher, it's incredible

If I wasn't putting all my spare pennies into my Gallardo/R8V10+ piggy bank, I'd chop my b8 in for one tomorrow

Indeed, I think there's a few of us in that camp.

Thanks bud that's about what I thought you would say, strange how we all crave cars that have both performance and handling, now I'm just waiting for Audi to build one! I can see me bailing out until they get there act together with dynamics,I had a fast hammer in my b5 and wouldn't buy another even if it was all I could afford,il keep my b7 tip top but I'm 5years into ownership and can't see anything audi that competes with it,I'm gonna grab a golf GTD next year as commuter and may just run that until a real top notch replacement is on the market,I'm liking the latest bmw's too which is a worry lol I was behind a 520d estate in black earlier and it looked as mean as b8 rs4 ....good but not good if you know what I mean.I can't warrant the stupid fuel bills on something that isn't bloody good at everything.
