Hi there, I guess that makes me one of the 5 who already placed the order in the UAE.

Nice to find you guys here and also looking forward for the new toy (delivery expected by September). Yes, it's tough to order something this special/exotic for this region... it takes ages to arrive and obviously no stock at all.
Do you have any idea on what other colours have been ordered? Mine will be a Misano Red with the Rotor wheels (titanium look).

most of the orders placed are either daytona grey or one of the blues. not a lot of mix

I popped in to Al Naboodah on Saturday and the orders for the RS4 in Dubai are: -

2 x Sepang Blue (mine being one of these)
Then I think 5 other cars have been ordered, these being a mix of Ibis White, Daytona Grey and Misano Red's

The desired build week for my RS4 is Week 31 (July 29 - Aug 4th), but this is yet to be set in stone by the factory.

Are you guys clear on what version of the MMI Plus we will get here? I have kinda got confused on this one and couldn't find any exact detail on this.
The order refers to MMI Navigation Plus for Export (PNT part code) but searching for it doesn't show many good results.

I wouldn't focus on the "for export" too much, surely every car Audi make that is not distined for Germany is specc'ed for export?

If you follow the link below PNT is defined on page 3 as "MMI Navigation plus (including MMI touch)", I know this applies to the A7, but I believe the PR Numbers are standard throughout the various ranges.

Build week confirmed week 35.2013 (so thats 26th - 31st August).

Nice one, happy days. thing is Not to burst your bubble but add about 4-5 weeks on to that for delivery and prep, so you're looking at end of Sept

It's worse than that!

The car has to be shipped from Germany to Dubai, once delivered to the port it has to wait until the next sailing, then it is at sea for approx 4 weeks, then port clearance, then PDI, then registration with the authorities. Only after this process is completed can I take delivery. My guess is mid-late November.

It's ok, it's what I had expected.

The great thing is that the Renault Safrane is sooooooooo poor that the new RS4 is going to feel just so much more special when it arrives. I hadn't appreciated just how communicative the old rs4 was until I took delivery of the hire car, it is alien to me to turn the steering wheel and not feel what the car is doing.

I also loathe filling the Renault with our super cheap fuel, whereas it was a joy to fill the RS4 for another glorious tank full of driving enjoyment.

My wife laughs because this is the first time since we met in 2002 that she has seen me in a 'normal' car.

I'm also looking forward to driving a V8 again. I sold my M3 last July when I lost my license for 6 months. I've acquired my wife's Evoque in January when she bought a Merc. Sold the Evoque in early May and then have had the A7 loaner since.
Looking forward to the rasp and acceleration that's for sure and having my own machine again.
Will post pics pre-prep when I see it on Friday.
