Ha ha, which one ?
I am not sure Audi are going to be a lot better at communication and getting a date TBH
Mine is scheduled to be built w/c 24/10 but I am not holding my breath, oh and I had an intent deposit down since June 2011!

Re: Lead time for delivery?
Deposit was on a new V6 Exige but delivery keeps moving out and I don't have much confidence the car will actually materialise so I've pulled out.535dboy wrote:Chris G wrote:Thanks for the reply. I have a deposit on a new Lotus but I'm getting messed about so looking to maybe change plans.

BTW, we must have similar tastes as my family car is an E70 X5 40D M-Sport

Re: Lead time for delivery?
The lotus is an awesome car, I was lucky enough to drive one around the LeMans circuit on a track day a month or so back. I loved it and felt more grown up and stable than mine.Chris G wrote:Deposit was on a new V6 Exige but delivery keeps moving out and I don't have much confidence the car will actually materialise so I've pulled out.535dboy wrote:Chris G wrote:Thanks for the reply. BTW, we must have similar tastes as my family car is an E70 X5 40D M-SportI'm trying to decide if I should have the winter out of it and replace it with a RS4 B8 come spring time. X5 is so good I'm not sure I'm ready to move it on. Also thinking about a new Boxster S instead of the Lotus.
Is it going to be a weekend car only or a daily drive because as an everyday car I would have to say the porker would win hands down because it has similar handling and performance but is much more practical!
On the X5 I have enjoyed it but I'm definately ready for it to go. Mine was one of the first (noticed a theme with me yet!? porker was first customer car too!)so I have had it long enough now and I'm really looking forward to the RS now

Re: Lead time for delivery?
Our X5 is just 2 years old now so I don't feel quite ready to change yet although I'm normally a lot more fickle with cars. That being said another 6 months might be about time to change!
The Lotus was going to be a third/weekend car as we also have a Clio 200, but I'm thinking the Clio could go and a Boxster would get more use, as you say it's way more practical and a much better quality product.
997GT3.2 or GTS is also an option

Re: Lead time for delivery?
Given all the uncertainty surrounding Lotus, this time (they've been in a mess many times) it seems rather more serious than usual, I reckon pulling out is the right move - it pains me to say that as I've got friends who have worked there for over 30 years.Chris G wrote:Deposit was on a new V6 Exige but delivery keeps moving out and I don't have much confidence the car will actually materialise so I've pulled out.

Re: Lead time for delivery?
I've been told it is around eight months for delivery at the moment.

Who knows where lotus is heading but my lotus has held its value really well over 4 yearsChris G wrote:Our X5 is just 2 years old now so I don't feel quite ready to change yet although I'm normally a lot more fickle with cars. That being said another 6 months might be about time to change!

It it was purely a weekend car I would sway towards the lotus, if it becomes your main second car then the porker would be better
Both are rather expensive though now - to the spec I would want the lotus is £60k, having said that, we paid £63k for the porker. On the face of it one seems better value for money!

Re: Lead time for delivery?
For info, as of today I'm being quoted end of Q1 2013 delivery. Suits me fine really.
Re: Lead time for delivery?
There have been some delays apparently although hopefully mine snuck in before the delays.
