A friend has just bought an A8 4.2 Quattro.
Having some misfires problems, smell of petrol!
VAGCOM reported:
16684 P0300 Intermittent, Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Dtected
16685 P0301 Intermittent, Cylinder 1: Misfire Detected
16688 P0301 Intermittent, Cylinder 4: Misfire Detected
16687 P0301 Intermittent, Cylinder 3: Misfire Detected
16686 P0301 Intermittent, Cylinder 2: Misfire Detected
16538 P0154 Intermittent, Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B2 S1: No Activity
3 questions:
if it is the O2 sensor, which one is it, i.e. actual location. Sorry I dont know which is bank 1 and bank2
anything else I can try to confirm?
is this the one which usually requires the engine out because its a complete b*****d to get to??? I read a thread ages ago about adapting tools to get to it without dropping the engine.
Many thanks
