I know what you mean, but in the driveability way I found it quite like the McLaren F1. If you only use about 1/3 throttle and change up before you hit about 3,500rpm you're ok! I drove it on a hot summer's day though, which would've helped my opinion dramatically! But I can imagine if it slipped in the wet you'd be in a whole lot of trouble. I just love V8's, and I REALLY love big growly torquey V8's! The price tag's a bit steep though for such a raw car. For the same money you could have the FANTASTIC Lamborghini Diablo VT. Now there's the perfect supercar! Apart from an RS4 of course

Incedentally, just looked at the earlier posts on this thread, and thought I could add a little useful information! The RS6 engine is a BEAST , but the gearbox kinda kills the performance car image it's supposed to have. It's a fantastic gearbox, don't get me wrong, but it just isn't the same as the 6 speed manual in the RS4. I really do love that engine though. Ahhh the NOISE! Oooh, and all the "which is fast, RS4 or the RS6?" business, I can settle it. There's a chap who lives a few miles down the road from me, and we have little "races" around the public highways, and so far he's only beaten me once, and that was because I caught a glimpse of one of those T5's that just look a bit suspicious. I do NOT wanna get nicked with insurance premiums like I have now! But yes, 0-100 or so, RS4's faster (just), braking's better by a distinctly measurable amount, and it has a little bit more stick in the corners than certainly the RS6 Avant. I do like the RS6 though. But for half as much again as my it should be a bit nice!

About the same mass as an RS4 though. Sublime motor not for country lane thrashing or roundabouts!

I don't think it's finished yet but it should be quite interesting when it is.
