Or MRC or MTM. I'd like to know whether they still have to break the ECU. Given the two engine failures on here now I'd want to be sure anything done was reversible without trace.

APR are still cracking the ecu and dont expect this to change for a good while.

Everyone is still having to remove the ECU thats the only issue i have with it as the security pins will be broken making it obvious the ECU has been touched. I know Shark can put new pins in so it looks like new not sure about the rest.

I will you guys know about the remap and what the difference is also!

Here a reply I had from revo:

"...... to your questions the ECU
is held into the car with small security shear bolts. These are cut off
and replaced by your dealer when the ECU is refitted. The ECU itself has
no 'safety pins' to be snapped off, it is sealed but is resealed once
the work is complete."

So looks like once the map is placed on ecu then it looks as if it has never came out the car.

How many miles has your car done? I'm just on 500 so obviously i'll need to wait for a little while.

I doubt it. Audi will sniff it a mile off if it came to it. That's the risk you take.

it is pretty easy to see if a car has been remapped, doubly so on the RS3 as the ecu chip has to be removed

Mine done 3700 so far. I'm looking forward to getting it done. I have spoken to revo and they have said that if anything was to go wrong with the car the dealer will be able to take the ecu out the car, send it back to revo HQ FOC and have the map completely wiped and put back to standard!

Which for me sealed it. Gives me that little extra cushion of security!

Just going to be gutted to be without my car for 3 days.... But get to jump about in the smart car for a bit haha

Some RS3's can be mapped through the OBD, but i dont think they will be on the later ones.
