BMW 1M

Post by funkygibbo » Thu Sep 20, 2012 11:17 am

I know before buying my RS3 all the reviews and magazine articles compared it with the 1M, and I know I may be biased but bloody hell the BMW seems to have aged really badly. I see a white 1M several times a week on my daily commute and each time I see it I just feel more Image

It looks like it's been designed using the bits from the clearance bin at Halfords, by an 18 year old who's just moved up from his 1.2 Corsa.

Whereas looking at my RS3 :notworthy:

I liked the look in the press etc but saw a black one on the road about a year ago and it just looked wrong.

I am sure it is an amazing car to drive and the sound is awesome but no thanks.

You also can't compare it as it a coupe. I would carry the full family most weekends (5 of us) and often have to put my bike in the back when heading to races of time trials. Try doing that in a 1M :bigwave:

For me the RS3 still ticks every box.

#Care. RS3 is my daily driver cause it's spacious, comfy and awd. When it comes to stylistics and track i prefer 1M.

For my taste the 1M has too many unnecessary styling lines and features, it looks like the designer got a bonus for every line he/she drew.

BMW looks more aggressive than the RS3. I think they stand out more to a normal 1 series than the RS3 to the S-line. Especially as every Audi you see is an A3 black edition or S-line.

i drove one before picking the 3

looks bloody lovely and drives brilliant, i love them, probably my second fav bimmer ever after the E30 M3

however as a daily driver, too small inside, and to much rain and pot holes in the UK and manual would suck in traffic

on track with someone else playing the tyre bill, 1M all day in the real world, RS3 wins hand down

can i have both please :biggrin3:

The 1M looks at home in the paddock and out driving on The 'Ring... sorry, just can't say the same for the RS3 :(
