Considering an RS3, maybe putting a deposit down on Monday.

Hi Guys,
Firstly going to look at an RS3 on Monday...
A bit about me.. I'm a bit of a VAG nut, had quite a few Golfs.. Ranging from a Golf Rallye to three R32's, I currently own a Golf GTD but been dreaming about a Golf R for the past year since i'm not doing so many miles, driven one and enjoyed it but thought it needed more power so convinced myself I would get one and get it remapped. Been looking for the past 6 months ish for the right one, considered used and new but just haven't bitten the bullet. Got really close to going ahead with one recently but with the MK7 Golf on the horizon the residual value being offered has dropped making it too expensive to finance, its just not enough car to justify the added expense.
What next, I thought I'd look at S3's, which I had kinda of dismissed before because it on par with the Golf R just more common, sorry like a Rare car!
So I was having a day dream looking around at what else was available, looking at silly cars and the RS3 popped up. At first I didn't think it was going to be an option, but with high residual value its within budget. Found a good deal on one, and the finance works out so off to view it on Monday.
Anything I need to look out for? Any advice would be welcome. I can't find service costs anywhere, any info would help.
Cheers
Knobby..

Ha ha.
3. Any girl that drives an Audi is automatically 5% hotter than her non-Audi driving equivalent, this percentage increases exponentially with the addition of S, RS and R badge designations.
This might interest you.. My wife will be driving the car on a daily basis (my weekend toy) and she's HOT! (32FF /size 10/ 27yrs)

not much to look out for really
squeaky brakes at low speed when cold are normal
theres a recall on the drivers side front vent, it should have lots of little holes behind the grill
a few cars have had squeaky centre consoles

Test drove an RS3 today, put a deposit down straight away.
Stunning car, fingers crossed I'll get the keys later this week.

Even looking over the bank holiday, prices seem all over the place! Phoned a few Audi dealers and some are up at £38k with 17k miles and then the same price for £5k miles!
Did you get a discount at all?

There aren't that many cars about, so those with better spec and more desirable colour are going to command a higher price. Some may owe the dealer more driving the price up. Also consider age. The early cars are well over a year old.
I can't see much if any discount being available, residuals are still high, why would you discount?
I think you need to decide what you want and what you're willing to pay. Don't expect a bargain.

Some pictures I took this morning.
Jan 2012, 3200 miles,1 owner, pretty much a brand new car. The previous owner was a pensioner. Its a standard car, only has Auto lights as an option I believe. The standard spec of the RS3 is perfect for me, with the Golf R (30k ish std) I was considering I'd have to have added 3-5k worth of options to get it to the same spec, but for 5k more for an RS3 i'm getting much more!
The misses loved the white, it was my 2nd colour choice but I do like the Black on White look.

For auto lights read adaptive headlights. That is very basic spec!

Going to ring Audi tomorrow to see what other options it has..
Just looking, it looks like it has the following.
Lights and Rain sensor Pack
Privacy Glass
Mobile telephone preparation
You probably think i'm a mug going for an under spec'd car, but lets not forget how much better the standard car is over a Golf R which I was very close to ordering. I also prefer the understated look, thats why I wanted the Golf R, I like a sheep in wolf's clothing...

I came from a 32, but rapidly fell out with the dealership just prior to jettisoning. I wouldn't go back to VW because of that experience.
The Golf R tickled the taste buds a little, but I was not fancying the miserly four cylinders.
Ordered an RS3, and very happy with it.
