I wonder if Audi Europe will follow suit?
Time to start running some more tests :-)

VW UK have been a PITA when dealing with DSG issues you only have to read some of the threads on R32OC to see others have had painful experience with VW. My Golf Edition 30 developed a fault with its second Mechatronics unit, the stealer and VW UK :knob: were absolutely <beep> in dealing with it. In the end the car went. :bigwave:

VW USA have also extended the warranty to 10 years on DSG boxes too. But when will VW UK follow suit.... :bash:

I always wonder with cases like this why it's legal for them to treat one set of customers one way and another set another. Probably something to do with the size of the market and the UKs being relatively small, but it just seems out of order and pretty bad to basically discriminate who gets looked after when everyone is buying the same product.

Shitty end of the stick as always, maybe the UK should start taking companies to court at the drop of a hat?

Nothing to do with the size - it's purely down to the relevant laws in each market.
The US has incredibly strong product laws especially when dealing with cars. This is why the DRC issue was limited (time and duration) "goodwill" here but an official recall campaign in the US.
Class action and damages limits in the US are such that it really does force manufacturers to do certain things. Hell, owners in the US could also claim the cost of switching to an aftermarket suspension system if fitted in place of DRC.
I would imagine the rules in china are different but more a case of you simply can't mess about with the government over there (trust me - I deal with them regulary!)
They have no issue with banning anything at a whim - it could be possible to ban all audi sales if the problem gets very bad and there's not alot anybody could do about it in reality.
