S Button

Hi folks
I've been following this site since I placed my order in Feb this year - it's been a wonderful wealth of knowledge
The dealer called and I'm about to receive mine in 2 weeks time, and I'm wondering if anyone has their S button activated at all times (for the wonderful sound of course) and does this have a negative impact on the fuel efficiency?
Thanks

It has an effect on fuel, due to the fact of needing to here that amazing noise requires a lot more right foot
Oh and welcome

fair point....assuming one is not trigger happy with the right foot and drives "normally" with the S button on, what's the technical effect on fuel? My initial guess is that it should be immaterial since we're only opening the flap on the left pipe.....

in the absence of hard facts to indicate greater fuel consumption, i guess the right thing to do is have that S Button activated at all times

It'll get on your wick when you're sat on the motorway. Horses for courses is my approach.
The only thing that will increase fuel consumption is your right foot.

The S button for me is the Jekyll and Hyde of the car, out with the family or customers etc. button OFF, out with your mate, on your own and want a blast or if someone fancies taking you on button ON.
As for fuel economy who cares, when it's ON the foots down anyway

Never think about the S with regards to fuel.
As above I put it on when I'm having fun etc but on a normal commute or cruising at motorway speeds I switch it off.
It's been said on another post, the flaps are open when at standstill on S but when you move away they close as some point and only open again once you're in a certain gear. You will hear it when slowing down. Quiet but as soon as you are about to stop you'll hear the flaps open again.
I also think they maybe open on full throttle but again information about this is not 100%

Hmm....thought having fun meant having both s button and s on the shift activated

I leave mine on, the steering is far to light even with it on

I never use S, apart from launch control
M for hooning A for traffic and even then I put it in M to engine break
