Do dealers have the time and facilities to do a full engine rebuild?

What was the history of why you chopped it Dave? (not heard of any FSI 2.5 engine problems)

Umm that cheered me up!
I have 5 year extended warranty on mine, one factor for not going down the modified route. - Remember trying to get VW to replace my coil packs and inlet manifold under warranty on my R32 after a coil pack fire.... When they showed me a copy of the Golf+ that stated my re-map, high lift cams, Milltek and 305bhp 6 months old! Lol
I have to say after a week of ownership i am really impressed with the RS3, despite a exhaust rattle it's going to be a car to keep for a while. I even managed 32mpg over 100miles today! (poor work mileage rates dictated my granny driving)
