Just been on the Audi configurator and can still spec up an RS3 - thought all the 500 cars had been sold, or was that salesmen pushing or did they allocate more to the UK ?

Hi
I ordered an RS3 in September 2011, this was as I understand one of an additional 100 more that had been released to Audi. As to whether you can still order one I don't know, but it wouldn't surprise with the economy the way it is currently.

There was rumoured additional allocation. No more factory orders now though. So, unless you can find a cancelled order without build date, it's a case of looking at the cars that are out there now.

There was additional allocation, but i would think the order bank is closed now.

if its like the biturbo RS4 audi had a set production run and then allocated them to various countries, the unsold allocation then gets divided up by the countries that want it

I would by mighty pished off if I bought what was supposed to be one of 500 production cars and paid the price as such to then find out that they were then going to produce more.

The vast majority of car manufacturers "limited runs" turn out to be nothing of the sort... once they spot the potential for more profit they can't resist it (and with UK car sales in 2011 being the lowest for over a decade the temptation is even greater).

depends on the extra number, the cars are not badged x/500, a few extra wont hurt and in a couple of years theft and crashes will bring it back on par
no guarantee that there will be an extra 100

There defo was an extra allocation. Drybeer had mentioned it previously to me, not sure of numbers.

Ordered mine back in Sept and had it delivered by Xmas time.
They are still making them.... if anything Audi's now offering them with different alloys...

When I placed my order at Carlisle Audi in October from Drybeer I was told that there was extra allocation and therefore I placed my order.

I see you ordered your car in Sept and got it before Christmas, I ordered mine also in September but have a delivery date of Summer 2012. What spec did you go for to get such a quick delivery?

It must have been either:
Ordered in Sept 2010
Or:
A car already in build.
