Toying with the idea of getting a second set of cheap rims to run snow tyres on / track tyres
need something cheap, strong enough to be hammered on track and ideally painted black
maybe in a size that gives cheap snow / track rubber, 18/40/225?
anyone know the ET? will 18" rims fit over the brakes?
any thoughts

Me too
This seems to be a bit of a mine field as none in the uk has the spec for the brake calliper clearance. Some of the guys in Germany have various OZ set ups, but i'm thinking 18inch to allow more options with sticky rubber for track days.
Have you called anyone?
Where are you located?
