How Did He Get This Spec?????

Post by hammy969 » Sat Nov 26, 2011 9:58 am

Morning Guys

Please have a look at the attached link for Piston Heads.

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3427560.htm

This car appears to have a spec that was not available from the UK. It appears to have the aluminium roof bars (not available here) and originally prior to there removal was not availble in combination with the aluminium styling pack??????

I can only imagine the roof rails are deal or aftermarket fit - it is possible to do but fiddly.

The official Audi reason was that the (gloss) roof bars would not match the (mat) finish of the rest of the al'y styling - although a lot of customers like your good self would have gladly bought them if they were made available!

Stoke Audi have just added black roof rails to a Daytona Grey one, talking to the service manager, the bodyshop had a mare fitting them and the cost was way too much for them :audibash:

We once ad our approved body shop do it - it was (cough) not cheap. Dropping headlining, removing curtain air-bags and re-fitting alone is a lot of labour. Plus the actual roof drilling, captive nut placement, riveting etc. you would have to REALLY want to undertake it and pay the bill.
