This is probably Audi's answer to the understeer played out on that 5th Gear episode. If in doubt, ask them, we'd all be interested in their response. Tell your Audi sales drone that you're getting cold feet because of this 3rd wheel choice. See what brown stuff sprouts forth from his gob.

Hi.

The extra wheel choice was available long before the aforementioned 5th gear episode (in which Higgins himself said this is nothing like road driving - I've not sold an RS3 yet to someone who intends to track it).

Personally I wouldn't pay £1100 more for slightly wider!


I'd put £1100 into winter rubber.

So you heard the man:
1. Worry not about the silly wider track
2. Pass go and collect £1,100
3. Spend new found dough on lovely winter rubber
4. Profit!

The reality is 20mm would make very little difference to the size of the foot print, maybe a F1 driver would notice but i doubt i would

My current R32 was criticized for the same thing yet if you drive it properly it does not understeer

I hammered an RS3 on a test drive and the cornering is insane, leaves the R32 for dust power slides around corners very nicely

I found it a bit hoppy over bumps, like a rally car


oh and i will track mine so ner :p


clarkson demos turn in on a trailing throttle 3.50 here, seams very natural thing to do to me

This wasn't an option when I ordered mine.

Seems strange having a lower profile as well.

So wider and thinner on the front.

When you go through the configurator it won't let you keep the wider wheels when you get to the interior section!!

Just to update you I emailed Audi customer service almost a week ago, to get the 'official line' and am still waiting for an answer.

I'll let you know when (if) I get an answer

This is weird.

If you ordered back then you should have an APPROXIMATE build week long before now, EXCEPT if you ordered ANyTHING on the order made by Audi Exclusive - i.e. extended leather, leather controls covers, carpets, painted items, etc.

I've ordered customer's cars in October and have an approximate build week already for them.

If I can be of help in some way PM me.

There has to be more to this than two different front alloys and tyres for £1100 surely - it sounds bizarre if that's all there is to it?
