This is just speculation but hoping that someone with experience with other new audis could add their experience.

1. Will Audi warranty be valid if I mod / remap the RS3.

Was going to extend to the 5 years but like to think I might want some more horses in the future.

2. Anyone used fixed cost servicing / maintenance / tyres?

Quote for everything was £118 per month (15k miles pa)

I know with my RS6 I would be quids in but maybe the RS3 won't be as hard to run.

Anyone like to speculate on costs for a set of tyres / pads /discs / servicing costs.

Might need to get a spreadsheet on the go!

Hopefully going to place an order next week :)

Steve

re. warranty .... it wont be void per se

if something fails they can directly attribute to the remap then they will not pay out for that failure ... it wont "void" your warranty

best thing to do in that event is to "de-mod" before taking it to Audi (if something big goes!)

defo go for 5 years, adds mega resale value

Re service plan ... not a chance, go alone

Feedback on options to tick please.

So far this is my plan.

Daytona Grey
Black style pack
Black roof rails
Buckets
Light and rain sensor pack
Adaptive lights
Heated front and rear
Cruise control
Bose upgrade
Interior light package
Window blinds
5 yr warranty

Sound ok? Anything else a must or anything I've chosen a waste?

I wouldn't bother with heated rear seats and would prefer tinted windows rather than blinds. But otherwise agree with everything you've ticked.

Is there a V8 option?

Sorry going for tinted windows, forgot that.

I do use both the rear window blinds and rear heated seats in my RS6 but granted not essential at all.

Will miss the v8 for sure.

damn you Steve ... you're ordering my car !!

i'd ditch the blinds and interior light pack

heated seats are a must in the winter !

what is abit of a piss take is that BOSE, black pack and tints is standard on the Black Edition, but extra on the top of the range RS

also, Steve ... are you gonna test drive one before you commit? or at least a TTRS ?

Trying to get a drive in a ttrs. Audi Belfast think they might be getting one as a trade in on Monday but aren't 100%.

I have an option of getting one early so going to discuss the details on Monday.

I might take ur advice and save a couple of pennies on spec.

Nothing ud add dk?

Have u driven a ttrs?

No forum on here.

all the TTRS people are on the TT forum

iv not driven a TTRS, but my TTS is great fun ... i didnt get on with the S3, but I think the RS 3 will fill all the gaps the S3 had

such as

boggo seats
too slow
no character
crap sound

How long do u think u should wait before a remap?

I kept my rs6 standard.

Worried about insurance here in NI. Already pay close to £1k for the 6, and most won't quote for mods.

Are Ceramics a option Steve?

Regarding blinds and rear heated seats, this is something I wish I had, so I would def order it. More option, the better come resale time imho

Daytona and black optics...the man has taste 8)

No ceramics. I guess there will be after Market brakes too when the tuners get involved!

This will be my main car. At the moment I have the RS6 plus a Scirocco 2.0 tfsi and this will be my daily and my toy. I've always loved how rs's can do that but the rs6 was killing me on the running and repair costs doing 15k a year. First year cost me £10k all in running costs!

The main costs with this will be depreciation. But I'm not buying it to keep her locked away!

There is a chance I might be able to get an early one but have to chat over the details.

Then I'm going to have to go over the heartache of selling the 6 and finding the prefect buyer.

They haven't made me a trade in offer but I'm sure it will be good!

I've had 3 1/2 amazing years with her :)

Steve, tbh, id remap it straight away as tuners have already got lots of experience on the 2.5TFSI on the TTRS

if you cautious, just put a safe stage 1 on ... road trip to MRC i recon

find out how it effects your insurance

prob worth advertising your RS 6 well in advance as it can take a while to find the right buyer

Will do but I need to get her serviced first and want to get a full health check done.

That's not far off the spec I'm looking at, but I'm not keen on ordering without driving. Bit of tricky one as demonstrators and first customer cars are expected at the same time - looks to be July time for the first cars. However, it would appear that Audi will up the volume if demand is as high as is expected.
