New to the forum having just ordered a new RS3 (well letter of intent and deposit anyway). Anyone else getting one?

Presumably that's an 8V RS3?

Note to moderators - we need an 8V RS3 Forum...

I'm waiting for the saloon to be announced before making my final decision, but so far pretty set on not getting one. I wanted one, but now it's official I'm disappointed.

Is it the toned down looks that have put you off? I like it. Subtle, yet a brute. The perfect car for 2015.

Yes, the photos I've seen so far have shown it too toned down. Looks like a A3 s-line. I was hoping for something more like the A3 clubsport, but the main thing would have been the option of a saloon. Not interested in hatchbacks or sportbacks or estates.

Just seen your RS4 build thread and we have different tastes. I de-badge my cars and like them looking like a S-line. Thank God we are all different :)

Yes I like them 'in yer face'. I think S-line's look too boring for me, I want something a bit different.

I had an 8L S3 from 2000-2003 (before the S4 and RS4s that I had since then), and to my eyes 8V RS3 just lacks "presence".

There's subtle, and there's invisible - and I think the 8V RS3 is a long way on the invisible side of that line.

I had a 8L too. Trust me the latest RS3 is much more aggressive than the pics suggest. And twice as fast! :)

Edited to add: seems I am not alone.

My boss spoke about this (the 2015 RS3)in our meeting the other day, he has seen this in the flesh and said it looks as wide as you like, also said it sounds incredible. He spoke about this more than the new R8 which he was also shown on the same day, yes, the new R8 is ready to go too! ;)

But his point was that it DOES look wide and NOT understated as the press pictures showed and as I think you like, so be careful, it might end up looking how I want rather than what you want if you know what I mean.

Let's hope it splits the difference!
If I don't like it you probably will - and you can have my slot ;)

Lol, true but I'm only interested if they make a saloon which is looking unlikely.

Spied testing... and I'm with you Mike, looks are underwhelming but I'll hold out until the saloon is announced before making a final decision.

Since Audi have said that the RS3 won't be going to the US (who hate hatchbacks but love saloons) I reckon the likelihood of a saloon is lower than the likelihood of Hell freezing over.
