Has anyone had their rs3 remapped?

Hi there,
I am still thinking of chopping in my rs4,
I was wondering if anyone had their car remapped and has it caused any problems?
As if I went for the rs I would probably get it done eventually if it does not cause many running problems?

A few people have had problems running standard and mapped cars. If it was me and it was under warranty I wouldn't bother mapping it. Actually even out of warranty I wouldn't bother just in case. Having said that people have done a fair few miles with a map without problems.
You take your chances . . .

i would not map any audi under warranty if you want to keep the warranty
my car need a few warranty tweaks and before they did them they had the car in for 2 days so that it could be inspected by someone from audi uk for mods
out of warranty go for it but stick with the reputable specialist tuners

I personally am gagging for my rs3 to be mapped but have been shown the light re warranty. My previous RS3 had been chipped and Milltek'd and it was a completely different beast to the standard car i have now. Don't get me wrong, people have had issues on standard cars but Audi will check for mods!! The last car sold modded by Audi to me had issues, Audi uk withdrew all and any warranty and the Audi garage had to buy it back. I have to wait another year for the warranty to expire as things could get very expensive very quickly if out of warranty. Personally, I know that some people will endlessly rag the life out of theirs and they are the ones that will have possible issues re drivetrain and possibly even engine.

Numerous reports of cardan shaft (propshaft) bolts breaking at the attachment to the Haldex on re-mapped cars.
ALL cars are now checked (official) for re-map and where found the warranty is void.
These bolts have been found to fail on standard cars to and the unofficial advice is to limit launch control (LC) to a minimum.

Surely depending on damage to surrounding parts this wouldn't be an expensive bill? Maybe tuning companies would be wise to only offer a remap if those bolts are replaced with stronger bolts and torque'd up tighter to prevent this.

If only life were like this. Current estimate for a FAILED yet in warranty re-mapped RS3 is £2000 ish
